Practical Information

The school will be held at the Institut d'Études Scientifiques de Cargèse (Corsica). The lectures and seminars will be given from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. (except on Sunday) from June 21 till July 3 included. Participants must arrive by June 21 in the afternoon and stay for the whole duration of the school. Departure will take place on July 3.

TRAVEL :

The most convenient way to get to Cargèse is by airplane to Ajaccio airport, via Paris, Marseille or Nice. There are convenient Air France flights from Paris (Orly airport) leaving on June 21 to Ajaccio at 15h30 (AF 4502), and departing from Ajaccio to Paris on July 3 at 6h55 (AF4501), 10h25 (AF7561), 13:55 (AF7569), 18:05 (AF7575).
There is as well an Easyjet flight on June 21 at 11h00 from Charles-de-Gaulle (Roissy) Airport and an on July 3 at 13h15 from Ajaccio airport arriving at Charles-de-Gaulle (Roissy) Airport.
Ground transportation will be provided from Ajaccio to Cargese as follows: Participants whose travel arrangements are not compatible with this schedule may use the regular bus service between Ajaccio Bus Station and Cargèse (two buses a day except sundays, schedule enquiries at station tel: +33 4 95 51 55 45). Taxicabs between Ajaccio Airport and Cargese cost approximately 90 Euros. Speakers arriving late or departing early should order a cab with the institute.

Caution: International flights usually arrive to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (north of Paris). It is possible to reach Orly airport from CDG in about 1h 30 by taking the RER B line south to Antony, and using the Orlyval shuttle from Antony RER station to Orly. Alternatively, there are buses going directly from CDG to Orly, but time varies upon traffic.

ACCOMMODATION :

The Institute is located a short 2 km walk south of the village, on the sea shore. The institute manages a number of apartments in the village, as well as a few rooms on the institute premisses, at the following rates (on a 12 night basis, corresponding to the duration of the school): Please note that

MEALS :

Breakfasts are served at the Institute for people staying on the ground of the Institute. Lunches and coffee breaks will be served at the Institute on working days only, at a global cost of 150 Euros, including a welcomed aperitive. Vegeterian people should specify their preference at the time of registration. Accompanying persons may take lunches at an additional 10 Euros per meal. Dinner can be had in several reasonably-priced restaurants in the village.

FACILITIES :

The conference room is equipped with blackboards, overhead and video projectors. There is a room with 12 PC Windows, 4 Linux stations and 2 Macs,reserved for email and internet browsing. In addition, there are a number of ports to connect laptops. A small library offers reference books for local reading.

REGISTRATION :

Applications have to be filed through the webform before March 15, 2010 . The result of the selection process will be announced by April 10, 2010.
PhD students or young postdocs must have a recommendation letter sent by a senior scientist familiar with their work by email to cargese@lpthe.jussieu.fr with
Subject: Cargese2010: Recommendation for FIRSTNAME LASTNAME in order to allow for an automated treatment.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT :

Participants are expected to cover their own travel, registration fees and living expenses. Some funding will be available upon specific request.
